RESPITE CARE (Day & Night)

Amore can provide respite support for both, the individual and the carer. Including planned, emergency and temporary help. This can enable short-term or time-limited relief for both families and their loved ones.

Home Help.png

Sometimes it's the simple things that are needed the most, like keeping the home clean and tidy, with tasks such as washing, ironing, changing the beds and preparing meals. Help can be given with ordering shopping,  medication support and tablet management.

Amore is on hand to help supervise the discharge arrangements from hospital.  Guidance can be offered in planning a safe return home and support given with rehabilitation care needs, lessening the risk of readmission to hospital.

Amore can offer support for a range of medical conditions due to illness or injury, plus help with the management of specific specialist conditions including palliative and end-of-life care.

Older people are especially vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation. Having someone to support or accompany them can make a huge difference to both their physical and mental health. Amore offer support with making appointments, whether that be to the GP or the hairdresser and can provide transportation to those appointments too. Whether it's arranging days out, trips to meet friends or simply just be an ear to bend, Amore is here to help!  According to Age UK, more than 2 million people in England over the age of 75 live alone, and more than a million older people say they go for over a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member.

Being different

My focus is on the individual and their specific requirements. The process starts with a free, 1 hour consultation with the care receiver and their family, to collectively plan the best way forward. This enables me to fully understand individual needs, medical situation and ongoing responsibilities. It's also a great opportunity for you to make sure I'm the right person for the job too.

One of the biggest downfalls in care provision is the lack of familiarity and the changing faces at each appointment.

The Amore way is to create a uniquely tailored support plan, identify key elements for assistance and agree how we can care for you personally.

About Me

I qualified as a general nurse from St Georges medical school back in 2005 with a diploma (distinction) and a first-class honors degree in nursing.

A life in nursing certainly isn't glamorous and is more of a calling rather than a career, it's a diverse and challenging environment. Over the past 17 years I have had the privilege to be part of human life entering the world and sadly leaving it too. Caring across a wide range of settings has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience, both in the clinical environment and out in the community.

The principal goal of Amore is to offer a personal care and assistance service that differs from the corporate business model and focuses around individual needs. The NHS is extremely stretched especially when it comes to community social care.

My passion has always been to look after people, whether it's bandaging up a poorly knee or offering a hand to hold in someone's final moments. I believe in treating people with dignity, compassion and friendship, no matter what their circumstances. That's hopefully why Amore assistance can be of help to you and your loved ones.
